Conference chairmen: Tryggvi Thor Herbertsson (director, Institute of Economic Studies) and Mike Orszag (Watson Wyatt and chairman, research committee of INPRS).  This is a followup conference to the conference we organised in summer 2000.

Conference venue: Central Bank of Iceland, Reykjavik

There is no conference fee for either workshop but audience sizes will be strictly limited to encourage vigorous discussion. We’d like the audience to be drawn from a mixture of policymakers, journalists, and industry. Future of Retirement, June 7, 2002

The "Future of Retirement" workshop will be a half-day public forum and discussion assessing issues likely to affect the future of retirement. The speaker list is:

  • Alicia Munnell, Director of Center for Retirement Research, Boston College

  • Jeff Brown, Harvard University

  • Richard Disney, University of Nottingham and Institute of Fiscal Studies

  • Sarah Harper, Director of Oxford Institute of Ageing

 

Iceland is known for its beautiful natural scenery which ranges from volcanic areas to glaciers to waterfalls.
