Participant Checklist for Iceland Conference, June 7-8, 2002

1. Register with organizers. Receive confirmation that space is available. There is no conference fee and as there are only 40 spaces, there is likely to be excess demand. 

2. Make Reservations for Plane and Hotel. Participants who are not invited speakers need to make their own flight and hotel arrangements.

• Flights: Icelandair is the most common way to fly. The website http://www.icelandair.com has contact information. Online service travelocity.com also handles Icelandair as does expedia.com. Conference starts at 1 pm on. Friday, June 7 and ends Saturday afternoon. Some recommended flights for participants. You can also try Trailfinders in London at 0207-937-5400 or call Icelandair directly.

• Accomodation: you will need a room in Reykjavik, preferably near the Central Bank but most hotels are within walking distance. Book now as rooms are in short supply in Iceland in the summer. Recommended hotels are Hotel Borg and Hotel Saga. Some may also prefer Hotel Holt which is the nicest hotel in town and the most exclusive. Another large hotel - but further out of town  - is Hotel Loftleider. Expedia and Travelocity also handle reservations for many of the Iceland hotels.
